The Porsche 968 Convertible is a ever rarer and wonderful thing.

If you’re a fan of the marque you’ll know about the 968’s driver appeal, its reliability and ruggedness. It was voted by Performance Car magazine the best handling car 1993, so even then the 968 had a lot going for it. Nowadays its quite a rare sight on Britain’s roads, and coupled with the fact that it was only produced for three years, makes used examples less than commonplace.

968s have a 3.0-litre engine and rack and pinion power-assisted steering, is powered by the 944 S2’s 3.0-litre engine, but with variable valve timing to improve power, torque and fuel economy. Factor in super-responsive steering, old fashioned rear drive and a front-rear weight distribution that’s not far off 50:50, and you’re left with a car whose heart and soul is pure sportscar as well a GT cruiser.

Our 1993 model we sold to the last owner and has a very good service history with main dealers and specialists including cambelt changes through the years, miles and the car has now has only 106000 miles. There are also old MOT’s and the car now is currently MOT’d until June 2024.

Over the last 4 years work has included servicing and specialist welding, headlamp motor, new clutch and slave cylinder, water pump, new oils, cam belts in fact a £6500 overall

The car had a new hood in 2009 and as well as services has had other attention as and when necessary. The car has an immobiliser, wind deflector and roof tonneau cover.
